I was introduced to the Non Photo Blue pencil in the early days of my art career, and I’ve used it ever since. This pencil was a game changer. The blue was light enough to easily ink over and the printers/scanners of the early 2000’s couldn’t detect the color. Today’s machines are obviously much more advanced.
However, I still use it for much of my sketch work. Even now that most of my sketching is done on my tablet, I find I cannot break the habit. So this series of series of sketches is in honor of the Non Photo Blue pencil, that has been quietly helping artist and designs for decades.
